The Collection position works closely with Sales and Finance to establish strong working relationships with our customers. Some people love getting to the bottom of things – chasing down claims, resolving issues, digging through the details to identify discrepancies and needs. It takes a love of the details to do this job well. This position will review accounts to insure customers are remitting within terms and resolve discrepancies on assigned accounts timely.
Runs/Reviews Aged Accounts Receivable reports.
Business to Business collection calls on delinquent accounts and documentation of contact with customer.
Works within the Collection Plan of GP to make sure that all customers are being reached out to as needed, with 30, 60, and 90 day notices as well as making phone calls on past due balances.
Documents when customers are nonresponsive and recommends escalation to management.
Conducts monthly collection calls with our larger customers.
Research/Investigate issues with accounts, including pulling information from Salesforce, Financial Force, Great Plains, Wells Fargo payments, email communication, etc to resolve billing issues.
Be first point of contact for Finance Department - Answering incoming calls and customer email messages.
Assist in answering both internal and external inquiries as well as reconciling POs on customer’s accounts in a timely and accurately manner.
Works with Sales to complete required reversals to resolve customer billing issues. In addition, work with Finance for needed credit memos and forward to customer as needed.
Fulfills customer requests for invoice copies and account information.
Assists when necessary in reconciling invoice collections for annual Connect event.
Works with Sales and Accounting to streamline quote to collection revenue cycle process.
May assist in preparing customer invoices to be mailed out when necessary.
Provides support to Controller and Chief Financial Officer’s special projects, including, but not limited to annual independent audit as needed.
Education and Qualifications
Minimum of 2-4 years of collection experience
Detail oriented with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including workbook organization, worksheet design, worksheet linking / referencing; and formula creation and efficient usage
Basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Word
