Portier Camera Based Parking Guidance Lands in Helsinki Airport

Portier's Vision Space Specific Cameras have been installed at Helsinki's new P2 garage.

Portier has been Finavia’s partner in parking for more than a decade already. During our cooperation, some of the garages at Helsinki Airport have been demolished and new ones have been constructed to better serve the increasing number of passengers with different parking needs.

The latest garage completed at Helsinki Airport is P2, where our newest, state of the art
Portier Vision space-specific cameras were chosen to offer Finavia’s customers the latest technology in parking guidance products.

Camera units monitor individual parking spaces and detect the presence or absence of vehicles. When the camera detects a vehicle, space status is changed, and the unit automatically captures the license plate. Green or red led stripes in each Vision camera inform drivers whether spaces are available or not.

With Portier Vision cameras, the operator can monitor parking spaces and check captured videos of any movements around parked vehicles, providing an additional surveillance tool of the garage. An additional service for customers is provided by Find My Car kiosks, which help drivers finding the correct location of their parked car by using the license plate information.

Taking care of customers starts already when approaching the airport by car. Big Portier guidance signs inform the drivers about the occupancy rate in each parking facility surrounding the terminal buildings. Portier parking guidance displays in front of each garage and in different levels also show the number of available spaces in each building, level, or floor section. In some areas, Portier space-specific parking sensors indicate the availability of parking spaces for drivers with either green or red LEDs in certain parking garages.

Different parking facilities have been targeted to different customer groups and the segmentation of these several options is being supported by different Portier parking guidance products. All parking guidance products from every parking facility are connected to Portier HOST parking guidance platform. This unique platform gives the operator a single dashboard view into the whole parking guidance system at Helsinki Airport with the possibility of getting useful reports from the system as well.
